Artbooks is a tax preparation office in Toronto that provides services to freelance artists and sole proprietors. They send out a yearly postcard to their clients as a reminder to book their appointment. For the 2024 and 2025 season I did the art and design. For many years there was a golden retriever character featured on the postcards, but we decided to introduce a new character. We started with the phrase 'get your ducks in a row' and invented an anxious duck character who prepares taxes for other ducks who he has to round up 'into a row'. The next year we did a play on the idea of an annual tax return and the annual migration of birds through Toronto. We had our tax preparer duck character bird watching and looking out for the other birds who need their taxes prepared. We are currently working together again for a postcard for the 2026 season featuring our duck friend!
